Taylorsville Police officers shot a 35-year-old man who was reported to be suicidal at a Taylorsville home Friday night. Officers responded to a residence at 11 p.m. Friday near 4400 South 2200 West on a report of a man with self-inflicted injuries who was reported to be suicidal. The homeowner placed the call to authorities, police said in a news release, and officers were told that the suicidal man suffered from a post-traumatic stress disorder and possibly schizophrenia. Police were confronted by the man upon arrival to the residence, and at some point, the man threatened police with scissors and a 'large, bowie-type knife.
